newborn portraits

Between sleep deprivation, juggling the responsibilities of now having three children, spending time with my husband, trying to keep the dishes and laundry in acceptably small piles, making it to appointments in a timely way, and baby snuggling, I really haven't had much time to indulge in making beautiful things for the fun of it like I usually do. I have, however, been enjoying spending more time behind my camera, resulting in lots of lovely photos and, if possible, a third-born who is more photographed than the first-born was. ; )

The following are my favorite shots from my newborn photo session of Sweet Pea when she was just six days old.

It's hard to get a good photo of newborn with their eyes open because they have a hard time focusing. I have Brother and his loud noises directly behind me to thank for this lovely shot.

This one makes me smile.

The bedspread in these photos was hand-crocheted by my great-grandmother for my grandpa while she was expecting him. I am so honored that she wanted me to have this precious heirloom.

I really love tiny baby toes.

We used this one for her birth announcements.

More baby feet...Couldn't resist.

She's so tiny!

Ah Christina, I well remember those days of raising children, a whole lot gets set aside for a time. Still, wonderful that you have picked up the camera because these are great photos and yes there is nothing like sweet baby toes. Coming to you through Studio JRU.

Ahhh...such a sweet baby and such wonderful photos! I know you are tired and dragging but do know that you are so blessed to have these photos of your child. My boys are young, married men now and I have only ONE baby picture from the hospital of each of them. Back then we just didn't take that many photos and it was standard to just take the hospital photo packages...oh boy! Also developing film was like a luxury and digital wasn't even in the horizon. I love seing everyone's beautiful shots of there children now-a-days ;) Have wonderful week, fondly, Roberta

Oh Christina, these photos are so precious! I love the pictures of the little baby feet, so sweet. What a treasure to have that wonderful baby blanket, it is so special. I have inherited my great-grandmother's christening gown and it was so special when my dauther wore it for her christening. She eventually will inherit it (and I hope she will be blessed with more children than I did).

Such great pictures! I love pictures of newborns...I mean, those little toes are just so adorable. One of my favorite pictures of my son when he was a newborn (2 now) is a foot picture. I have an 8 x 10 on my wall. Just love it!

CONGRATULATIONS C! Your girlie is beautiful. And you are beautiful (and so wise) for getting your hair done and going out with your hubby to celebrate your anniversary.

Balance is everything and sounds like you are doing a great job. Keep making time for taking photos - those sweet toes grow fast!
